The Veluwe in the middle of the Netherlands, the dunes along the coastline and the marshlands spread all over the country, these areas are fine to walk or paddle for days on end, without seeing that many people. In fact, the Veluwe with its old forests and roling sandy slopes is the largest connected forested area in western Europe. Here you can walk for 100 kilometers from north to south, without meeting human artefacts, except from tracks and roads.
