Yuri Klaver offers inspiring presentations, seminars and workshops aimed to reveal the dormant potential in people and organizations. Yuri studied environmental science and policy, and worked as a sustainability consultant for businesses and governments. He developed environmental management systems, was program coordinator environment & sustainability in the municipality of Aalsmeer and advised regional municipalities about sustainability.
Yuri is also an entrepreneur with a passion for groundbreaking solo expeditions in the northern wilderness of Siberia and Alaska. In 2014 Yuri became the first human being ever to cross the Brooks Range from ocean to ocean, by going upstream a river by kayak, cross a mountain pass and paddle a thousand kilometers downstream to reach the Arctic Ocean, all by himself.
Yuri provides illustrative examples from government practices and experiences from companies. The power of sustainability is that it’s meaning is free to interpret to some extent, as long as the reasons behind it are clear and are clearly communicated. With humor and depth he translates theory into practical guidelines for business and government. Yuri gives a clear explanation of the concepts of natural regeneration capacity, ecological footprint, life cycle assessment (LCA) and the triple P principle, in order to help with the translation into an appropriate strategy so you can book financial and ideological success. Attention is also paid to social and organizational issues. You will get answers to questions like:
